Erasmus Froelich (1700–1758), was born in Graz and died in Vienna. He studied philosophy, theology and mathematics. He was a teacher of Hebrew, Greek, history and mathematics in Vienna.
This work is a reprint of the first edition published in 1750, which highlighted the history of the Seleucid rule. According to Sommervogel, the work was distributed to present the theses publicly defended by Count Eszterhazy de Galantha.
