Synopsis

A catalogue for an exhibition held at Musée de l’Echevinage, Saintes from 25 April – 29 June 1992 and at the Musée Sainte Croix, Poitiers from 4 July – 31 August 1992.
Beaucorps was born into a wealthy, aristocratic French family and took up photography as an amateur in the mid 1850s. A collector and an enthusiast of Spanish and Arab decorative arts, he is best known for his architectural photographs of monuments and landscapes made during travels through western Europe, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, and Turkey.
