Synopsis

First edition. A second edition appeared in 1817. An Italian translation by G. Barbieri was published at Milan in 1821. In this work Irumberry (Salaberry, 1766-1847), praises Turkish customs, institutions and governmental administration. He always recognised the legitimacy of the Ottoman Empire and was convinced that the Greek revolution was largely due to the instigation of the Paris Greek Committee.
