Synopsis

Henri Lammens, a French monk who lived most of his life in Lebanon. He lectured at the Jesuit university of Beirut in Islamic history, and edited the periodical “Al-Machreq” after the death of Louis Cheikho in 1927. Lammens published several books on the history of Islam, and the history of Syria and Lebanon.
