Synopsis

An academic study on the formation of the Golden Army of the Mongols based on Persian, Chinese, Arabic and Urdu sources. Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall was the first to study this army formation when he published in 1840 Geschichte der Goldenen Horde. Several other scholars also published works on the subject including Russians who showed lot of interest in the Mongols especially by the Academy of Sciences.
