Synopsis

The Palestine Exploration Fund place Conder, the grandson of Josiah Conder, in charge of the survey of Western Palestine in 1872. This is the story of Palestine Exploration Fund told by Major Conder who commanded several expeditions during the last half of the 19th century. The maps illustrating this volume have been revised by Conder who contributed to the production of the first scientific maps of Palestine.
