Synopsis

Theodor Fliedner (1800-1864) founder of the Protestant diocese in Kaiserswerth, was their pastor from 1822 to 1849. He was a German Lutheran minister and founder of Lutheran deaconess training. He travelled to the Holy Land in 1851 with 4 deaconesses, and they also visited Smyrna, Beirut and Constantinople. This is his travelogue, of which only the first part was published in 1858.
