Synopsis

First edition. A German translation appeared at Weimar in 1801 and an abridged German edition, Vienna 1806. This important and very detailed work describes the Ionian Islands shortly after their acquisition by the French. Grasset de Saint Sauver lived in the Ionian Islands from 1781 till 1798, latterly as a commissioner of commercial relations for Napoleon. The Islands had come into the possession of France in 1797.
