First edition of volume 1 appeared in 1968. The author mentions in his introduction in volume 1, that he had to reproduce volume 1 after discovering new material on pre-Islamic history, which was added in this second edition. Volumes 2-10 are all first editions.
Al-Mufassal fi Tarikh al-Arab Qabl al-Islam" (The Abridged History of the Arabs before Islam) is a well-known historical work by Jawad Ali, which has been one of the most referenced works on the subject.
Jawad Ali (1907–1987) was an Iraqi historian and academic who specialised in the history of both Islam and the Arabs.
