The survey covers the Muslim World from Morocco to Baluchistan. The extended bibliographical notes includes notes about architects only. A short passage written about a Muslim architect more than a century ago, a sentence or two discovered about him in an old chronicle. The roll of architects includes all men known to have been architects, engineers and master masons, no matter whether such of their works as have survived, completely or partly or merely in description.
