Lebanon’s Quest. The Road to Statehood 1926-1939.

In this volume, the second in a trilogy on Lebanon under the French mandate, Zamir looks at the highly complex process of Lebanon’s emergence as a nation-state. He provides a full documentary history of the early power struggle between Lebanon’s political, religious and economic elite - a process that both set the stage for the country’s later development and planted the seeds of future conflict.
