Ferrandis, José.

8vo. Spanish text with some Arabic transcriptions, Volume I: 116 pp., [2], 67 b/w plates on thick paper, [1] / Volume II: 305 pp., [2], 90 b/w plates on thick paper, biblio, tables, b/w illustrations in text, biblio, index, modern green cloth, title gilt on spine, original wrappers preserved, book plate verso front cover, set clean and in very good condition, Limited Edition to 800 copies, Imprenta de Estanislao Maestre, Madrid, 1935-1940.

This study of objects d'art made or carved in Ivory is written by the leading authority on Arabic applied art; the relative scarcity of the work is accounted for by being published at the time of the Spanish Civil War, assuring that it reached a small audience.
Bibliographic reference: Creswell 876 (erroneously calls for 59 plates only). Palau 90 143.
