Sisevitch, Arnaldo.

4to. An essay published in The Wide World Magazine, pages 73-81, double column per page, b/w illustration, contemporary cloth, title gilt on spine & front cover, foxing at endpaper & half-title, publication of The Wide World Magazine, April to September, 1900.

A previously unknown journey to Mecca by a Bulgarian scholar. Knowing no language but Bulgarian and Arabic, M. Sisevitch wrote his MS in the last-named tongue, and it was translated by a friend of his, a Slovenian trader. The Wide World Magazine reproduced a facsimile on a part of this interesting manuscript. This narrative is perhaps the most vivid account ever published of a rare feat, and the illustrations include some photographs
