Life and works of Christiaan Snouck Hurgronje (1857-1936) mark an important period of the European study of Islam and of Dutch colonial history. Both subjects can hardly be studies properly without taking into account the role played by Snouck Hurgronje. Among the most important sources his personal letters to his family, friends and colleagues. This volume covers letters sent to another scholar Theodor Noldeke (1836-1930).
