The Persian Gulf Pilot contains sailing directions for the Persian Gulf and the approaches thereto, from Ra’s al Hadd, in the South-West, to Ras Muari, in the East. This edition contains the latest information on the meteorological situation of the area described above.
An interesting record of a time at which "extensive new building development" was beginning to "change the appearance of some of the towns, notably Abu Zabi and Dubayy". "The picturesque town of Muscat, is protected on its eastern and part of its southern side, and the western side by precipitous hills, the remainder of the southern side, and the western side is protected by a wall. Outside the wall, and between it and the rugged hills encircling the town, every available space is occupied by many huts."
