Gray, Basil.

8vo. xiv, 92 pp., frontispiece, 15 b/w plates, cloth, soiled & faded, biblio, book plate of Toby Falk verso front cover, previous owner’s inscriptions on endpaper, occasional foxing, otherwise copy in good condition, Ernest Benn Limited, London, first edition, 1930.

A compact and popular form of a survey of the long period comprised in the history of Persian painting, but also provides the basis of an extended study of a very fascinating subject. Reader can obtain an orderly conception of the development of a school of painting whose rare qualities of design and decoration are reflected in many fields of craftsmanship in Persia and in other countries of the Near and far East.
