Matoian, Valerie / Michel Al-Maqdissi (Editors)

Large 4to. xviii, 474 pp., [1], tables, illustrations in text, 14 colour plates at rear, publisher’s original wrappers, biblio, copy in mint condition, from the series of Ras Shamra - Ougarit XXI, Peeters, Leuven/Paris/Walpole, 2013.

This is a collective work - gathering the contributions of twenty-seven authors. The studies presented concern the two neighboring sites of Ras Shamra and Ras Ibn Hani, located on the Syrian coast a few kilometers north of the city of Lattakia. The first part contains fifteen texts relating to research carried out within the framework of the Ras Shamra - Uugarit Syrian - French Archaeological Mission (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums of Syria). The results relate mainly to the Bronze age and, mostly, to the recent Bronze period.
