Malin Basil is a self-taught artist who has lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, since 1968. She was born in Sweden and has a degree in Russian and Political Science from the University of Stockholm. She also spent a year studying in the United States, where se met her American husband. Her first exhibition was held in Riyadh in 1972, the second in London in 1977.
