Theo Marzials, poet, musician and writer, is now remembered, if at all, as the composer of the popular Victorian ballad “Twickenham Ferry”. Munro endeavours to place Marzial’s achievement in critical perspective, and sketches the colourful career of this minor but arresting Victorian poet.
