Rickmer Clasen Rickmers, (1807–1886, An English explorer, Rickmers provides an account of twenty years of exploration in Turkestan, in the area he named the Duab which is the region area between, the Oxus (Amu-Darya) and Jaxartes (Syr-Darya) rivers. The region lies east of the Caspian Sea and south of Lake Aral and includes the Pamir Range on the southeast, and is bounded by the Hindukush on the southwest.
