Volume I: xl, 323 pp., English with some Persian text, including "List of works published by the Oriental Translation Committee", pages 320-323, includes poetry quoted in both English and Persian, translated by Francis Cunningham Belfour / Volume II: [3], 9 pp., of English text, 289 pp., of Persian text, edited from two Persian manuscripts and noted with their various readings, occasional spotting, contemporary hard boards with new spine, rubbed round edges, bookplate of Glasgow University Library (withdrawn) verso front covers, title on paper label on spine, printed for the Oriental Translation Fund, London, 1830-1831.

Hazin Lahiji, is the pen-name of Mohammad Ali ibn Abi Taleb ibn Abd Allah, also known as Mohammad Ali ibn Abi Taleb Hazin Lahiji, He was a Persian poet and scholar, born into an eminent family in Isfahan. His ancestors were scholars and landowners from Gilan. In 1734 he emigrated to India where he contributed to the Persianization of the ruling elites. He regarded the Persian of the Indian writers with much contempt. Hazin Lahiji is considered to be one of the most prominent scholars of the Safavid era whose knowledge extended over the theological learning of his time as well as Natural Science, a fact testified by his extant writings.
Volume one covers the English translation of the original Persian text, while the second volume is the Persian text.
