8vo. 155 pp., [2], numerous woodcuts drawn & engraved by Andree Karpeles, publisher’s original wrappers, faded, translated from Arabic with an introduction and a glossary by Gabriel Ferrand, index, limited to 1500 copies of which this is numbered 1267, copy clean & in very good condition, Volume VII of Les Classiques de L’Orient, a collection published under the patronage of L’Association Francaise des Amis de L’Orient under the direction of Victor Goloubew, editions Bossard, Paris, 1922.

The original manuscript of this text is kept in the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. A part of this manuscript was translated into French by Joseph Reinaud and printed in Paris in 1718.
This text is also translated from Arabic with an introduction by Gabriel Ferrand, it consists of two books, the first by the sailor Sulayman and Abou Zayd, which gives a description of China and India between the ninth and tenth century. In the second part, a conversation is made between Abou Zayd and the king of China.
