8vo. xii, 232 pp., 2 folding colour maps, tables, contemporary half-calf, repaired spine, new endpapers, appendix, index, previous owner’s inscriptions on half-title page, few pencil annotations, Trübner & Co, London, first edition, 1877.

The book was prepared at the request of Dr W. Hunter, the Director General of Statistics to the Government of India. Several officers and civil servants assisted in collecting the material.
The only copy traced at auction in the last 30 years was the Burrell copy which lacked one of the maps.
