Synopsis

First and apparently only edition. Marchebeus, who refers to himself as an architect, has written an account of the first organised steamer cruise in the Levant, which took place April-August 1833. The work is dedicated to King Otto of Greece, whose brother, Maximilian of Bavaria, was among the passengers. The plates engraved after drawings by Marchebeus, include views of Tinos, Syros, Hydra and Smyrna.
