Synopsis

The volume is a catalogue for the exhibition: “Expulsion of the Moriscos in the Kingdom of Valencia” which was an artistic testimony of dramatic events that happened in Spain during the first years of the seventeenth century.
The picture collection on the expulsion of the Moors from Valencia has seven canvases in which the highlights of this momentous historical event are captured. Currently, six of the seven canvases that comprise the series belong to the Bancaja art collection, while the seventh chart is in a private collection. The importance of this series of paintings lies mainly in what is historical document; It is a real visual chronicle of the traumatic expulsion of the Moors from the Kingdom of Valencia.
