Synopsis

This work has won an award by The Alsace Society of Writers. It is a biography of a great adventurer, who through his great relations played a significant role during World War II. Pierre Schrumpf, was a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine in 1932 and was promoted in 1934 to settle in Cairo, where he became professor of clinical medicine at the university. That same period marks his relationship with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, hostile to the British and the Jews. The doctor learned Arabic and adopted the Muslim culture. He was even called El Hakim.
