Synopsis

Hamad al-Khattat Abu Sulayman al-Khattabi al-Busti ( 931-998), of Shafi’i tendencies, travelled throughout the Muslim World from Khurasan and Transoxania to Iraq and Hidjaz in search of learning. Of the twelve works or so attributed to him, only this work has been published. Several others exist in manuscripts (See Brockelmann, I, 165, S I, 275). [Khahalah Vol. I, p. 652].
