According to DNB, the great Orientalist Sir Charles Malcolm saw the manuscript, provided material from his reference library to Mills, and encouraged its publication. Mills later became well-known for another historical work The History of Chivalry.
A very good copy. Divided into 7 chapters: I The Life of Muhammed; II The undivided Caliphate, or the History of the Rise of the Saracenian Empire; III The Divided Caliphate; or the History of the Decline and Fall of the Saracenian Empire; IV The History of the Muhammedan-Tartarian Empires; V The Koran; or, a view of the Theological, Moral, and Juridical System of the Muselmans. – Muhammedan Sects; VI The Literature and Sciences of the Saracens and Turks; VII The present State and Extent of the Muhammedan Religion.
