Synopsis

Jean Francois de Lacroix was one of the leading orientalist of his family that spreads her activities between 1653 – 1712. He studied in Istanbul, and travelled several times in the East as representative of Louis IV. He published in 1768 Abrégé Chronologique de L’Histoire Ottomane.
