Synopsis

Claudius Ptolemaeus and Martin Waldseemuller (ca. 1470-1518) were German cartographers. This map was first printed in Lyon in 1522, and it is almost a copy of the 1513 map with a few slight differences. Letters are given around the edge for reference to the gazetteer. This map is much more finely engraved and more accurately fitted to the tables than any of the maps of the previous Ptolemaeus editions.
