Synopsis

These maps were published after detailed mapping by the French navy adding more information and details which were supplied by French Security Services. Pelet conducted many reforms in the topographic service of the army. He was in particular a strong supporter of the realization of the “map of France” better known as the “Staff card”, which first pages appeared in 1833.
