Lazarus Goldschmidt (1871-1950) was a German writer and translator and was the first to translate the entire Babylonian Talmud into German. “He finished his literal translation from the original text only in the course of 1916 as he mentioned on his title page. Martin Brandus had the book printed first in a deluxe edition in 1917. All pages printed on India paper, the two opening pages were printed on thick paper”.
