Synopsis

Fernandez Y Gonzalez’s (1833-1917) principal work with regard to Arabic studies is undoubtedly “Estado social y político de los mudéjares de Castilla” in which he studies the political vicissitudes of the Reconquista, the legislation applied to the Mudejares, as well as devoting important chapters to the literary and cultural achievements of these people, and their transmission to Spanish culture.
