Synopsis

An extract from Journal Asiatique No: 4, 1853. Gustave Dugat (1824-94), a French Orientalist, discusses a medical manuscript by Abou Ja’far Ahmad from the fourth century; added are biographical notes on the author and commentaries on the variations between its Greek, Latin and Hebrew translations.
Dugat wrote several books, he also published in Paris (1854) with the Lebanese Ahmad Faris Al-Chidyac “Grammaire Francaise a l’usage des Arabes de L’Algerie, de Tunis, du Maroc, de L’Egypte et de la Syrie”.
