Synopsis

Fourteen museums from all over the world contributed to this exhibition which was held in Cairo in April 1969. Two hundred ninety nine pieces covering gold, rock-crystal, ivory, ceramics, glass, woodcarving, textiles, and paintings were exhibited. The exhibition covers examples from different periods beginning of early Islamic presence in Egypt, up to the Ottoman period.
