Synopsis

Paul Masson, was a professor at the l’Université d’Aix-Marseille and a specialist in the history of commerce in the Mediterranean basin. The present work discussed the development of French trade with the Levant especially that of Marseilles. History of the French Trade in the Middle East in the 17th Century, with an extensive bibliography section at the beginning of the book. It includes also the negotiations between François Ier and Soliman the Magnificiant in 1536 known as the “Capitulation agreement”. Rare work.
