Synopsis

Abu Muhammad Ibn Qutayba ( 828-889), a theologian and writer. He was the chief henchmen of al-Mutawakkil from 846- onwards. He was appointed as Kadi of Dinawar in 851. After 871 he devoted himself to the teaching of his works in a district of Baghdad until his death. He put his literary talents at the service of the enterprise of the restoration of Sunnis which was taken by al-Mutawakkil and his chief helpers. Most of the works of Ibn Qutayba have been published. This work is an analysis of Ibn Qutayba’s, writings, as well as a biography of him.
