Synopsis

Scarce work. At the recommendation of James Morrier, the author of ‘Hajji Baba’, the writer of these journals decided to publish them. Stuart left England in 1835, sailing to the Ionian islands and proceeded to Constantinople. Three chapters were dedicated to the Ottoman society and the relations between the Turks and the Armenians. The majority of the work is a detailed analysis of the Persian and Ottoman politics of the period.
Stuart travelled throughout Persia visiting Tabreez, Tehran, Seistan, Allahad, Kurdistan and returning to England via Warsaw.
