Synopsis

Denis Possot, a French pilgrim, made his journey to the Holy Land in 1532. He wrote day by day entries and his work is considered the only French renaissance narrative of the Jerusalem pilgrimage published in the form and structure of a journal, or diary. The narrative recording his journey from when he left home on Monday March 11, 1532, is animated by the incidents and accidents of the pilgrims road.
Possot records, rather, the common tales, reports and rumours shared among those he encountered on his pilgrimage, especially those passed on by other travellers.
