Synopsis

A personal account of a journey in Jordan , Lebanon and Syria. The author resided for six years in Jerusalem working as a missionary with the Jews. He was sent by the Society of Promoting Christian Knowledge among the Jews based in England. Lees was a known photographer at the end of 19th century in the Holy Land. He photographed many cites in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan. Part of his original photographs are kept at the Royal Geographical Society in London.
