Synopsis

“During the first World War Colonel Meinertzhagen, an Englishman, was on Lord Allenby’s staff in the Middle East; later he was successively a member of the Peace Delegation, Chief Political Officer in Palestine and Military Adviser to the Middle East Department of the British Colonial Office. In these various roles he played an important part in the initiation and difficult and early revolution of the Palestinian mandate and conceived a strong sympathy towards the Zionist movement”.
