Synopsis

Collected by his brother, this volume contains most of Lawrence’s miscellaneous writings except ‘Crusader Castle”. It includes “Diary of a journey across the Euphrates” , the suppressed chapter of “Seven Pillars of Wisdom”, the essay “Evolution of a revolt” and an introduction on Kennington’s Arab portraits, for the Leicester Gallery Exhibition Catalogue.
Most important it contains over one hundred photographs by Lawrence of the Middle East and the Arab revolt. The illustrations used in the ” Oriental Assembly ‘ were not among the archive of original photographs given by Lawrence and B. Liddle-Hart to the Imperial War Museum.
