Synopsis

The first edition appeared earlier in the same year under the title Personal Narrative of A Journey From India To England. Keppel served in the 14th Foot. He was present at Waterloo and also served in the Ionian Islands, Mauritius, the Cape and India. He returned to England overland in 1823/4 and it is this journey he describes here.
