Adolph Wahrmund ( 1827-1913), a prominent German scholar who taught Arabic, Persian, and Turkish at the university of Vienna ( 1871). Wahrmund taught the Khedive of Egypt Abbas II, and the Shah of Iran. The work is a handbook of practical Arabic language vis a vis the German.
