Synopsis

The Arabic corpus of Aristotelian zoology consists of nineteen chapters (maqalat), which generally is translated as ‘books’. Books XI-XIV contain the text of De Partibus Animalium. In this edition, this text has received the title of Kitab a’da’ al-Hayawan (Parts of Animals).
