Synopsis

Account of a journey made in the Spring of 1914 through Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey. The author visited Beirut, Dair el-Kamar, the Maronite Patriarch, Baalbeck, Damascus, the Yazids, the Alaouites, Hama, Masyaf, Banias, Tartous, and Tripoli. In the second volume Barrés describes his journey to Antioch, Homs, Aleppo, Alexandrette, and Konia.
